 HB 52 appropriates $100,000 for domestic abuse training for Sandoval County  
Legislation Overview:
 Synopsis: HB 52 makes an appropriation for domestic abuse training in Sandoval County
Analysis: HB 52 makes an appropriation for domestic abuse training in Sandoval County. The appropriation is for $100,000 from the General Fund to the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and Administration. Domestic training would be provided to municipal, county, and tribal law enforcement officers and probation and parole officers, as well as, court personnel, and victim advocates. 
The appropriation is to be expended in fiscal year 2025 for Sandoval County. Any balance reverts to the general fund. 
 
Amendments:
 Amended January 26, 2024 in HCPAC
HCPACa/HB52: The House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee amends as follows with new language in Section 1:  Training shall be provided by an entity or individual certified by the New Mexico law enforcement academy or a national accrediting law enforcement agency or by an entity or individual that has provided domestic violence training in the past to New Mexico law enforcement agencies.
