Senate Bill 284 (SB 284) enacts a new section of the New Mexico Insurance Code, stating that a minor child placed in substitute care or foster care by the Children, Youth and Families Department or by a licensed child placement agency is not disqualified from coverage under any premises liability insurance policy as a result of the child's placement status.Current Law:
The New Mexico Insurance Code does not currently prohibit disqualification for insurance coverage based on foster child placement in the home to be insured.
