Summary:
  Senate Bill193 (SB193) relating to insurance by requiring health insurers to provide coverage for weight loss drugs. 
Legislation Overview:
 Senate Bill193 (SB193) modifies multiple health insurance statutes to now require drug coverage for weight loss. 
They are Group Health Coverage, a new section of Chapter 59A, Article 22 NMSA 1978, a new section of Chapter 59A, Article 23 NMSA 1978, and a new section of the Health Maintenance Organization Law and a new section of the Nonprofit Health Care Plan Law.
The legislation generally states that a plan issued for delivery or renewed in this state that provides coverage for prescription drugs shall provide coverage for at least one injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist that is prescribed for chronic weight management in adults with obesity.
