Senate Bill 82 (SB 82) amends public school capital outlay projects grant assistance to extend provisions to reduce shares for certain school districts through Fiscal Year 2027. SB 82 eliminates some of the criteria the Public School Capital Outlay Council is required to consider before making an adjustment to a school district’s local share and makes conforming amendments.Legislation Overview:
Senate Bill 82 (SB 82) amends Section 22-24-5 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1975, Chapter 235, Section 5, as amended) relating to public school capital outlay projects grant assistance to extend provisions to reduce local shares for certain school districts. In Section 1, Subsection B(6)(b) is amended to extend the date to Fiscal Year 2028. Subsection B(9)(b) is amended to reduce the requirements the Public School Capital Outlay Council is required to consider in the share formula and to delete the requirements for growth and construction specified in (9)(c).Current Law:
