Summary:

 House Bill 529 (HB 529) makes an appropriation to the Civil Legal Services Fund to provide civil legal services relating to housing.  

Legislation Overview:

 House Bill 529 (HB 529) appropriates fourteen million dollars ($14,000,000) from the General Fund to the Civil Legal Services Fund for expenditure in Fiscal Year 2026 and subsequent years to provide civil legal services relating to housing. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2026 is not to revert to the General Fund.



 

Current Law:

 There is currently no appropriation to the Civil Legal Services Fund (Fund) for this purpose. The Fund was established to provide legal services for low-income people in New Mexico.
