Summary:
 Senate Bill 59 (SB 59) relates to Public Works, adding off-site fabricators to the Public Works Minimum Wage Act. 
Legislation Overview:
 In Senate Bill 59 (SB 59), off-site fabricators are added to the Public Works Minimum Wage Act. Section 13-4-10.1 NMSA 1978 is amended to add a definition of an "off-site fabricator" as a person who earns a wage to fabricate heating, cooling, ventilation or exhaust duct systems that are part of a public works project or any other fabrication that is either a component or structure that is prefabricated to specifications for use in or on a public works project.

STBTC/SB 59: The Senate, Tax, Business and Transportation Committee Substitute for SB 59 defines "site of the project," which includes off-site fabrication.

The definition of "off-site fabrication" is replaced with this definition:

"site of the project" means the physical location of a public works project as well as any off-site fabrication locations that engage in the fabrication of heating, cooling, ventilation or exhaust duct systems that are part of the public works project.

The previous section on prevailing wage and benefit rates, minimum wages and fringe benefits is deleted.
